The Sourcing Specialist works to achieve a competitive advantage for the Company by establishing contractual material supply agreements and developing and maintaining a broad base of world class suppliers that will ensure a consistent supply of high quality, cost competitive materials and services. • Continuously search, on a global basis, for new suppliers who can provide better materials, technologies, quality, and/or costs. • Continuously explore areas of opportunity and investigate better ways of working with current suppliers so that “overall costs of acquisition” are minimized. • Negotiate material supply contracts with suppliers and establish blanket orders, utilizing consignment agreements, vendor stocking programs and “kanban” contracts where applicable.  • Work closely with other purchasing staff to ensure that suppliers are cooperative and continually meeting their obligations. • Target material cost reductions objectives for assigned commodities to meet or...
