Job Description

Out client has an excellent opportunity for a Compliance Trade Coordinator to join their Logistics & Exports Sales team in the Atlanta area. The Compliance Trade Coordinator will proactively take part in the continued development, implementation, monitoring, and support of compliance programs and issues for both import and export as necessary within YMUS and its subsidiaries.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Handle various areas of Compliance such as export screening and classification of products; continued development of compliance programs such as C-TPAT, ISF, and Export Controls.
  • Stay informed of new regulations, issues, and concerns related to compliance; including current events, situations, or laws related to embargoed countries or particular licensing requirements/cautions to those countries. Advise management and subsidiaries as needed
  • Interface with Government Relations, Legal and outside legal (Trade), and Legal on issues as needed; including specific non-use/nondevelopment (WMD) or other type declaration from subsidiaries.
  • Communicate with the company Security Trade Control Operation to ensure effective processes and controls in place and for future direction; including new US Laws or sanctions. Manage yearly company STC monitoring for company and all subsidiary companies.
  • Continued development of training, education and practical implementation of programs and requirements to all business units to ensure continued compliance.
  • Communication with U.S. Customs and other Government agencies regarding ongoing compliance measurements and requirements.
  • Auditing of business units and problem resolution; training as needed.

 

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 5 years of functional experience in import, export, and related compliance issues.
  • Brokers license/training, Export Control Law, ITAR / OFAC training, and knowledge a plus.
  • Must have proficient computer skills, specifically working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Should have knowledge and experience with various Government programs, initiatives, and systems.
  • Must be detail-oriented, possess good organizational and follow-up skills as well as a good math aptitude.
  • Self-motivated ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Team oriented and highly competent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is critical.
  • Some Travel Required.
